The estate provides a secluded, rural feel while having all of the conveniences offered in an urban setting. With trees and foliage in every direction, ships passing by on the river and the backdrop of the 1910 lumber baron's mansion, there is ample beauty to enjoy and endless opportunities for unique and stunning photographs.
Offerings
The Suites. Each of the suites has it's own bathroom, is beautifully furnished and includes a sitting area with outstanding views.
The stately historic building sits on a 1.25 acre lot providing a pastoral feel with over 22,000 square feet of lawn and gardens. The 50 foot wrap around porch offers a romantic perch overlooking the Willamette River where you can relax and watch the ships pass by on the river.
We accommodate small weddings, business events, private parties, community meetings, photo shoots or other small gatherings.
Pricing varies widely depending on the activities, # of guests, day of the week and time of year so we invite you to ask for a quote.
History
The estate was originally the home of Amos Benson family (son of Simon Benson of The Benson hotel and The Benson Bubblers). Next it became the home of the Chaney family who brought up 13 children on the property. In the 1980s the estate housed The Open Meadow School. And in 2016 the estate was purchased by the current owner with a vision of making the estate accessible for community and travelers to enjoy.
When you rent the rooms and venue you can feel good knowing that your money is going toward the restoration and maintenance of a very special historic community asset.
