The estate provides a secluded, rural feel while having all of the conveniences offered in an urban setting. With trees and foliage in every direction, ships passing by on the river and the backdrop of the 1910 lumber baron's mansion, there is ample beauty to enjoy and endless opportunities for unique and stunning photographs.
Offerings
The Suites. Each of the suites has it's own bathroom, is beautifully furnished and includes a sitting area with outstanding views.
Main Floor. We host indoor events of up to 50 guests on the stunning main floor. For larger events the main floor may be reserved as an elegant "greenroom" for the bride and groom to relax and get ready for the day.
Outdoors. The 1.25 acre lot offers plenty of space for everything you could want. The lawn area overlooking the river is 10,000 square feet, more than enough space for a ceremony, sit down dinner, tents, bar and activities. The 50 foot long wrap around back porch offers a romantic perch in the shade for guests to relax and watch the ships pass by on the river.
We accommodate weddings, corporate events, private parties, community meetings, photo shoots or small gatherings. We have many options and can accommodate the most basic to the most extravagant of events.
Pricing varies widely depending on the activities, # of guests, day of the week and time of year so we invite you to ask for a quote.

History
The estate was originally the home of Amos Benson family (son of Simon Benson of The Benson hotel and The Benson Bubblers). Next it became the home of the Chaney family who brought up 13 children on the property. In the 1980s the estate housed The Open Meadow School. And in 2016 the estate was purchased by the current owner with a vision of making the estate accessible for community and travelers to enjoy.
When you rent the rooms and venue you can feel good knowing that your money is going toward the restoration and maintenance of a very special historic community asset.
