St. Johns Neighborhood, Cathedral Park, Downtown Portland
St. Johns is a neighborhood located in North Portland on the tip of the peninsula. It was a separate city from 1902 until 1915, when citizens of St. Johns and Portland voted to approve its annexation to Portland, which took effect on July 8, 1915.
The Columbia River borders St. Johns to the northeast, the Willamette River to the northwest, and the North Portland railroad cut to the southeast.
St. Johns Inn is within walking distance to tons of local restaurants, cafes, and pubs in the neighborhood. Take a stroll down the hill to Cathedral Park to admire the St. Johns Bridge. A short drive over the bridge and up German town Rd. will lead you to numerous trails within Forest Park perfect for hiking, running, or mountain biking.
